The view port in blender orbits around an indpendent invisible point, what I think is happening with you is you have reached that point so thus you can’t zoom in anymore. Like others in the comments suggested, you can use the “.” Key on the numpad to set this point to the active object.. As long as the object is selected it’ll zoom in to it easily.. It’s similar to Photoshop when you use Ctrl- 0 to zoom out of everything, but it’s backwards in Blender.
